Why St Columba’s?

Our motto 'The little school with a big heart' represents our unique culture of care, empathy and respect for diversity. At our school, your child is never just a number. Our staff know all the children by name and pride themselves on creating a real sense of inclusiveness.

Knowing all of our children as individuals and learners, we can personalise learning and provide the children in our care with the learning opportunities they need. At our school we teach the child, not the subject.

We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). As educators, we select and design content, thinking carefully about the strategies we will use to help children become independent inquirers and learners. We empower, we provoke, we question, we inspire but we never just provide answers. We always support and guide our students to discover the answers for themselves. We aim to keep children curious, to instil a joy for learning, to question the world around them and to take action where they see a need.

We offer a vibrant specialist program including Mandarin, performing and visual arts, physical education, kitchen garden and music. We welcome you and your child to come and see our unique school with the big heart in action.

What our parents & students say

"One of the many aspects I love about our school is that the teachers really know my children. Not just by name but them as an individual, any learning difficulties they may be having and their individual learning."
