Why St Columba’s?

Our motto 'The little school with a big heart' represents our unique culture of care, empathy and respect for diversity. At our school, your child is never just a number. Our staff know all the children by name and pride themselves on creating a real sense of inclusiveness.

Knowing all of our children as individuals and learners, we can personalise learning and provide the children in our care with the learning opportunities they need. At our school we teach the child, not the subject.

We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. As educators, we select and design content, and we think carefully about the strategies we will use to help children become independent inquirers. We empower, we provoke, we question, we inspire but we never just provide an answer. What we do instead is support and guide our students to discover the answers to questions that are important to them. We aim to instil a joy for learning and to keep children curious and to question the world around them.

We offer a vibrant specialist program including Mandarin, performing and visual arts, physical education, kitchen garden and music. We welcome you and your child to come and see our unique little school with the big heart in action.
