Our 3/4 Eco-Warriors get to work

Posted on 18 February 2016

By Francis - 3/4

This year the 3/4 students will be our school's EcoWarriors.

What does this mean? It means we will be leaders in looking after the environment, teaching others how to care for our world and advertising the many events we can do to make a difference to our beautiful environment. Watch out for these events.

The first event - Love Our Streets 3184 - is on this Saturday at 9.30 - 10.30 starting at the corner of Normandy St and Glenhuntly Rd. We can't wait to see you all there.

More about our EcoWarriors:

St Columba's successfully applied for a $3,500 grant through the City of Port Phillip to fund 18 hours of Tomorrow's Leaders for Sustainability classes during term 2 and a community sustainability investigation excursion.

Tomorrow's Leaders for Sustainability Inc. (TLfS) is a not-for-profit organisation that helps people of all ages understand the key principles and issues of sustainability while gaining the knowledge and skills to become leaders in their communities. The organisation's vision is to inspire people everywhere to live more connected to the natural world and lead their communities towards a sustainable future.

The TLfS Schools Program is a complete training package for teachers and/or community educators to deliver within their schools. It involves three elements - Education Activities, Project Activities and Leadership Activities and its strength lies in the community partnerships it builds through targeted projects and events."
