Lady Forster Kinder Visit

St Columba's Year 6 Sustainability Team recently visited the wonderful local Lady Forster Kindergarten on Elwood Beach. They took the kinder children on a nature walk and played games with the students. Here is a reflection from one student...

"The Sustainability team went on an excursion to a kindergarten near Point Ormond. We went with Mrs Bradley and the place was called, The Lady Forster Kindergarten. When we got there, we met all of the kids in the kindergarten and we went on a nature walk with them. When we finished the nature walk, we had free time and started playing with the kids. Everyone was playing with each other and we also built a fort and a campfire. We had lots of fun with them.""

The Grade 3/4 Eco Warriors also enjoyed a fascinating local excursion around our beautiful waterways here in Elwood. Specifically, they focussed on Elster Creek and how this could have looked before European settlement.

The students were joined by 'Captain Trash' who helped the students, along with Sharron from the Port Phillip Eco Centre, to understand how and why are suburb often experiences floods, and what we can do in the future to reduce this.

What our parents & students say

"St Columba's is known as the little school with the big heart and you notice that when you first arrive. Every teacher and every student knows your child by name. They offer bespoke learning experiences for children to enjoy while at school."
