St Columba's gets a big green tick for steam cleaning our bay

St Columba's recently received the big green tick of approval for completing its successful Operation STEAM Clean the Bay three-year project and associated reporting.

The school won over $75,000 in grant funding back in 2017 for our detailed grant application - developed through the hard work and dedication of our Green Team parents and the Port Phillip Eco Centre.

Ride2School Day & International Day of Happiness

On Friday 19th March, our school participated in Ride2School Day and International Day of Happiness. We had nearly every Year Prep-4 ride, scoot, skate, walk or take public transport to school! What a huge effort! The students were treated to a delicious healthy breakfast as they arrived.

Students wore bright coloured clothing to celebrate International Day of Happiness and loved listening to fun and uplifting music during the day. It was great to come together as a whole school to enjoy...
Nature Play Space Planting

On Wednesday 24th March, the Year 5/6's battled rain, hail and shine to help plant out our Nature Play Space. We planted approximately 130 plants, including some amazing species of plants. We will use our nature play space beginning next term to learn about native plants and the importance of having these in our school for our local wildlife. Youth and Schools Clean Up Day 2021

On Friday the 26th February, all students participated in Youth and Schools Clean Up Day. Every class took to the streets of Elwood to collect rubbish. Students collected from the beach, near the canal, around the block, our school yard and down by the Ormond Rd shops! We collected around 10 full bags of rubbish. MarketFresh Incursion

The Prep to 2s had so much fun participating in a MarketFresh Incursion on Friday 26th February. They learnt all about where fruit and where vegetables come from, how these are harvested and transported and how they eventually get to supermarkets and markets to be sold.
