What a show! Seussical has been an incredible experience for everyone at our school. Putting on a show such as this is not just about promoting the Arts and having some fun. It is an opportunity for children to develop what are collectively known as the ‘soft skills’- kindness, tolerance, empathy, resilience, creativity, collaboration, cooperation, sensitivity, understanding and acceptance.
As a school and individually, we have come a long way since those auditions way back in March and Seussical the musical has been testament to the incredible talent, spirit, determination and dedication that we have come to expect from within our community.
It takes a tremendous amount of support to put on a show like this and I would like to acknowledge the work of the wonderful St Columba’s staff, the PFA and you, the school community, for getting behind us and helping us to get this show on stage.
Wow. What a night of fun, talent, excellence and utter enjoyment. I am so proud that St Columba’s is part of our Port Phillip community. The costumes were vibrant, the cast was outstanding, the music was entrancing and I felt the social values of the script were inclusive and promoted diversity in a non-didactic way. Well done! You guys totally rocked last night. I was inspired and uplifted.
