No Waste Wednesdays!

Keen to compost your kitchen food waste but don’t have a bin at home?

Bring it to school and we will make it into beautiful compost on ‘No Waste Wednesday!’

When: Every Wednesday morning before school from 8.30am.

Where: Collection will be at the chairs and tables near the school gate.

What: Fruit and veg scraps, coffee grounds and egg shells (no meat or dairy please!)

You can collect a ‘No Waste Wednesday’ food scraps bucket from Miss Young after school on Mon & Tues. Bring your scraps for composting on Wednesdays and take home a new bucket for your next weeks scraps. We have small 5L and large 10L buckets available.

Our compost will be used to feed plants in the school and in our Kitchen Garden. All food scraps will be weighed and we will record and share with everyone how much we have diverted from landfill every few weeks.

Looking forward to having as many families involved as possible!

Hot off the press: in our first week we had 7 families and 1 teacher collecting 7.78kg of food scraps! A fantastic effort for a first week – well done everyone.
