If your heart is flourishing, you will grow!
Learning technologies play an important role at St Columba’s, enabling learning to occur beyond the boundaries of the school and the conventional school day. Imagination and innovation are mantras within all learning experiences created at St Columba’s school.
St Columba’s connects learning across all areas of the curriculum through an inquiry approach. We connect big ideas and concepts to engage our students to real life issues. We have a strong focus on merging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and skills within our curriculum and believe our students will become more animated learners by embracing the opportunities technology provides.
Student learning experiences are designed around engaging and stimulating learning experiences where we take into consideration STEM disciplines that are linked through our Inquiry units/concepts and across other learning areas. We encourage each student to take a learning journey that will ignite within them – exploration, imagination and innovation to help solve real life problems locally, nationally and globally.
Our open learning spaces are designed for students to learn beyond the classroom environment. These flexible spaces provide the possibilities of working collaboratively or independently and are well resourced for students.
