Learning technologies play an important role at St Columba’s, enabling learning to occur beyond the boundaries of the school and the conventional school day.
Each classroom has access to 20 MacBooks and 30 school iPads. Classrooms are equipped with Apple TV devices for easy sharing to the Interactive Whiteboards. In Years 3-6 we have a BYOD program for iPads and MacBooks.
St Columba’s connects learning across all areas of the curriculum through an Inquiry approach. We connect big ideas and concepts to engage our students to real life issues. We have a strong focus on merging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) within our curriculum and become animated learners by embracing technology.
Our open learning spaces are designed for students to learn from areas beyond the classroom environment. These areas provide possibilities of working collaboratively or independently and are resourced for students to access STEM equipment.
